The Passap Deco is a mechanical patterning accessory designed specifically for the Passap Duomatic and Passap Duomatic 80 knitting machines. It enables the machine to read 40-stitch wide punched cards to automate stitch patterns like tuck stitch, slip stitch, fair isle, and color changes.

Features & Design[edit]

Unlike Japanese punchcard systems (which typically use a 24-stitch standard card), the Passap Deco uses a wider 40-stitch card.

  • Mechanical Reading: The Deco unit clamps onto the back bed of the machine and utilizes small mechanical pins (pattern selectors) that read holes in the card as the carriage passes.
  • Stitch Capabilities: Automates needle selection on the back bed. By coordinating carriage dials, knitters can execute complex patterning on both double and single beds.
  • Deco Cards: Users can punch custom designs onto blank card rolls using a dedicated Passap Punching Device.
