Brand History & Overview[edit]
Veritas is a historic brand name originally registered by Clemens Müller in Dresden in 1894.[1] Following World War II and the partition of Germany, the brand was nationalized by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) and consolidated under the state-owned Textima combine, which oversaw the manufacturing of sewing and knitting machinery.
While Veritas is primarily famous for its vintage sewing machines produced at the VEB Nähmaschinenwerk Wittenberge, it was also used for domestic flatbed knitting machines, most notably the double-bed Veritas 360.
