Terrot GmbH (founded in 1862 by Charles Terrot in Cannstatt, Germany) is one of the oldest and most prominent manufacturers of industrial circular knitting machines in the world. Based in Chemnitz, Germany, the company specializes in high-performance single-jersey and double-jersey circular knitting machines for technical and apparel fabrics.

- 19th Century: Charles Terrot patented circular French-type loop-wheel machines, which became highly popular in European textile hubs.
- 20th Century: The company survived both world wars and underwent nationalization in East Germany (VEB Wirkmaschinenbau Karl-Marx-Stadt) before being reprivatized and returning to its core Terrot brand identity.
- Modern Era: Today, Terrot remains a market leader in circular knitting technology, especially known for electronic jacquard and high-speed stripe selection systems.
