Marketed under Empisal in Europe[edit]

I know that these were marketed and sold unter the Empisal name in Europe, does anyone know about other European countries?

Silver Seiko (Silver Reed) machines were sold under a few region-specific brand names across Europe:

Empisal / Empisal-Knitmaster: UK, Ireland, South Africa, and parts of Western Europe.
Singer: France, Italy, Scandinavia, Spain, and Benelux.
Knitmaster: UK.
Studio: North America and select European import markets.
Viscount: Specific entry-level models in the UK and Australia.

Does an "LC840" lace carriage actually exist?[edit]

The only reference I could find to something called "LC840" is here: https://shop.sckmcl.com.hk/products/new-silver-reed-lc580-lace-carriage-for-4-5mm-electronic-sk840-sk580-sk560-sk550 but while the original box does say "LC580/840", only the title of the listing does put the "LC" letters next to the "840" model number.

My understanding is that the latest Silver Reed lace carriage is still the LC580 and that it is officially compatible with the SK840 machine.

I therefore suggest removing the "LC840" reference from this page, as well as deleting the Silver_Reed_LC_840 page (which appears to be a copy of Silver_Reed_LC_580 currently).

You are correct. The "LC840" does not exist as a separate product model; the carriage is officially the LC580 (marketed as LC580/840 for compatibility across the SK550, SK560, SK580, and SK840 electronic series).
