The Silver Reed SK-860 (also branded as Singer 860 or Studio 860) is an electronic mid gauge knitting machine manufactured by Silver Reed. It features 150 steel latch needles spaced 6.5 mm apart.[1]
Computer Control[edit]
- External Patterning: The SK-860 carriage does not contain a built-in memory screen or console. It uses electronic solenoids that must connect to an external PC interface (like the Silver Link box) to execute patterning.
- Patterning Capabilities: When connected to pattern design software, it is capable of full-bed width patterning, including tuck, slip, fair-isle, weaving, and lace.
- Gauge versatility: The 6.5 mm needle pitch is designed to knit worsted, sport, and DK weight yarns, bridging the gap between standard and bulky gauge beds.
