The Knittax S8 is a standard-gauge domestic knitting machine manufactured by Karl Steinhof in Germany. Released in the 1960s, it refined the flatbed layout and carriage tracking of the Knittax Automatik series.
Features & Design[edit]
- Weightless Knitting: Utilizes the standard Knittax sinker bed system. Knitters do not need to attach heavy cast-on weights, reducing hand strain and simplifying the starting rows.
- Carriage Control: Features pattern selector keys on the front of the carriage, allowing for semi-automatic stitch selection (tuck, slip, lace, and mock ribbing).
- Durability: Built with a heavy-duty steel and aluminium frame, ensuring long-term reliability.
