The Brother KH-970 is the ultimate flagship standard-gauge electronic knitting machine produced by Brother and released in 1995. It represents the final and most advanced model in Brother's home knitting machine lineup before the company ceased production.

The CB-1 Control Box

The defining feature of the KH-970 is the CB-1 Control Box, a detachable computer console that manages all functions:

• Pattern Memory: Houses an extensive library of built-in patterns and supports massive custom pattern storage. Custom patterns can be designed pixel-by-pixel directly on the CB-1's LCD screen.
• Interactive Knitting (Knit Leader function): The CB-1 console replaces the physical paper Knit Leader. Knitters enter garment dimensions electronically, and the CB-1 display gives real-time audio and visual prompts showing when to increase or decrease stitches.
• Multi-patterning: Allows multiple patterns to be combined, positioned, and mirrored anywhere on the 200-needle bed simultaneously.
