The Bond Extension Kit is a modular expansion accessory designed to increase the needle bed width of Bond mid-gauge knitting machines. Because Bond beds are composed of interlocking plastic segments, users can connect additional segments to accommodate extra-wide fabrics, such as blankets, afghans, and oversized sweaters.

- Interlocking Rails: Features plastic rails and bed plates that slide and lock securely onto the ends of the existing bed.
- Needle Capacity: Extension kits typically come in sizes of 30 or 40 needles (often containing two 15-needle or 20-needle bed plates).
- Needle Retainer Bar: Includes additional segments of the plastic needle retainer strip to secure the new needles.
Installation[edit]
1. Remove the end caps from the main Bond needle bed. 2. Slide the extension rails into the main rails until they click or lock. 3. Insert the new plastic bed plates. 4. Thread the needle retainer bar across the entire joint. 5. Replace the end caps.
