The Brother KX 350 is a 7mm mid-gauge plastic bed knitting machine. It is highly prized by hobbyists for its ability to knit yarns intended for hand-knitting, such as DK and light worsted weights.[1]
Features[edit]
- 7mm Pitch: Specifically designed for medium-weight yarns.
- Lightweight Design: The entire machine is plastic, making it portable and easy to store compared to metal-bed machines.
- Manual Patterning: Does not feature a punchcard or electronic selection; all patterning (tuck, slip, fair isle) must be done by manually manipulating needles.
- Quiet Operation: Because there is no metal-on-metal friction, it is significantly quieter than the KH-series.
Maintenance[edit]
Unlike metal machines that require oil, plastic machines should be lubricated with food-grade silicone spray. Standard sewing machine oil can cause the plastic to become brittle or "gummy" over time.
