Taitexma

Taitexma (officially Taitexma Knitting Machine Co., Ltd.) is a manufacturer of knitting machines and accessories based in China.[1] While they produce a variety of industrial machinery and circular sock knitting machines (CSMs), they are well known in the home knitting community for producing brand-new clones of classic, discontinued Brother metal-bed knitting machines.[2]

Brother Clones (Flatbed)[edit]
After Brother ceased production of home knitting machines in the late 1990s, Taitexma began manufacturing new steel-bed knitting machines using the tooling designs of the original Brother models. These machines are parts-compatible with vintage Brother machines:
- Taitexma TH-860: A standard-gauge (4.5 mm) 24-stitch punchcard machine, built as a direct clone of the Brother KH-860.
- Taitexma TH-260: A bulky-gauge (9.0 mm) 24-stitch punchcard machine, built as a clone of the Brother KH-260.
- Taitexma TH-160: A mid-gauge (7.0 mm) manual metal-bed machine, built as a clone of the Brother KH-160.
- Ribbers: They also manufacture ribber beds like the TH-830 and TH-850 (clones of the KR-830 and KR-850).
Circular Sock Machines (CSM)[edit]
Taitexma is also known for producing modern mechanical circular sock knitting machines, including hand-cranked cylinder machines used for knitting socks, tubes, and ribbing.
